CBEPL organised another successful edition of its 3rd annual convention and competition on Lean Six Sigma | Concept Business Excellence, also known as CBEPL is one of the largest and professionally managed business consulting companies that provides services in strategy, innovation, problem solving and business transformation across all industries and is recognised at national and international levels. Since its inception in 1998, CBEPL has been partnering with clients to solve most of their critical business problems and transforming them to achieve sustainable results. The clients have gone on to save millions of rupees through implementation of these best practices.

The convention and competition on Lean Six Sigma was started by CBEPL to push organisations towards a strategic business excellence journey. The 3rd annual convention and competition on Lean Six Sigma was held on 9 October, 2014, at Vadodara and received an overwhelming response with it being attended by 400+ participants.

Per Peterson, renowned author and a senior partner at Part Development, Sweden was the chief guest at the event and Sandesh Kadam, site president, Reliance Industries, Silvassa was the keynote speaker. Sharing his vast experience on ‘Global Competitiveness’, Kadam brought the event alive by giving real life examples and showcased the way forward for Indian manufacturers.

There were 36 presentations presented at the convention and all of these were adjudged by a panel of jury members. There were presentations given by various organisations of the likes of Reliance Industries, Hazira, Linde Engineering India, Akshayapatra Foundation (NGO), Gunnebo India, TD Williamson, SE Electricals, Suzlon, HNG Float Glass and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages. The case studies were presented in four different halls with each hall having its own set of judges.

Apart from the companies mentioned above, papers were also presented by Bombardier Transportation India, Apollo Tyres, Elmex Controls, Gulbrandsen Chemical, FAG Bearings India, Lear Automotive India, Jubilant Life Science, Lupin, Narayan Powertech, Sicgil Industrial Gases, Omnova Solutions India and many more.

Platinum, Diamond and Gold awards were won by the participants at the event. Out of the 36 case studies, 10 won the Platinum award, 14 the Diamond and 10 the Gold award. Adding to the list of firsts was the CBE-Innovative Award, which was introduced for best practices in organisational excellence and three companies viz. Linde Engineering India, HNG Float Glass and TD Williamson had participated for this award category.

Another highlight of the convention was Per Peterson and Dan Blücher, renowned authors and senior partners at Part development from Sweden, launching three of their books on lean management. It was for the first time in the history of Gujarat that international authors had launched their books here.

Minitab and Cubic Computing were the joint partners at the event. Followed by Part Development they had Sweden as the event partner, QCI and Quality Mark Trust as the event supporters. ISOQAR supported them as the system partner while Esquire Machines were their industry partners. Concept Business Excellence is now gearing up to host its 4th annual convention and competition on Lean Six Sigma, which is to be held on 24 October, 2015.
