IMTEX 2017 – WENDT (INDIA)

While the buzz surrounding Make in India has been doing the rounds over the past few years, Wendt’s Indian operations have practiced this mantra for over 30 years now, whether on the super abrasive Diamond/CBN tools or the machines. On the machine tool front too, they position themselves as a total system supplier – providing the requisite tooling products and precision components, along with the machine.

Khanna is very bullish about the market. This was amply visible at IMTEX 2017, where the company launched seven machines. He stated that two IMTEX events from now, they aim to cross Rs 100 crores in revenues on just the machine tools front. “IMTEX has always been an event where we showcase what we have developed and innovated over the last couple of years. There has been an overwhelming response this year. We are also using this platform to showcase our entire spectrum of solutions to diverse industry segments from Cutting Tools, Engineering, Steel, Ceramics, Glass, and Automobile, to Defence & Aerospace. There are customers that know us only as Diamond/CBN tooling suppliers, so for the last few IMTEX shows, we have been working towards transforming our image, to be known as a honing & grinding solution provider, which includes offering of precision machines,” stated Khanna.

“We have taken up a stall in the new hall, which was built to counter the shortcomings of the earlier halls. I find that it has been well structured. The roof being higher enabled us to build our stall more elaborately with the additional construction of a mezzanine,’’ Khanna said of the freshly minted Hall 4.
