TT Electronics, a provider of engineered technologies for performance-critical applications, has been named a finalist in the Industrial Sensors category of the 2023 Best of Sensors Awards for FlexSense™. The Best of Sensors Awards, presented by Sensors Converge and Fierce Electronics, recognises the best in sensor technologies and the sensor ecosystem, people and companies.
Walter Brooks, the Global Product Manager – Optoelectronics at TT Electronics, emphasised the importance of addressing the increasing demand for cost-effective control electronics and customised high-end optical encoder sensors. FlexSense™ is a flexible solution that can easily be configured to meet optical encoder design requirements, including higher resolution, faster response, a smaller footprint, and greater intelligence, he added. Brooks further explained that with FlexSense™, TT Electronics’ customers can accelerate time-to-market, reduce solution complexity, and increase manufacturing throughput both now and in the future.
FlexSense™, a patented optical sensor array, offers versatility as it can be quickly programmed for a wide range of code-wheel diameters and resolutions. It is also compatible with multiple LED packages and wavelengths.
Charlene Soucy, the Senior Director of Technology – Sensors & Electronics, stated that the innovation this year surpassed other years with new, innovative technologies as well as technologists doing groundbreaking work in the field of design engineering.
The judging criteria for the submissions included evaluating their value to the marketplace, the impact of the problems it solves or issues it addresses and the uniqueness of the design. The winners will be revealed on June 21 at Sensors Converge.
