GCD Vilayat’s commitment to sustainability rewarded

Received the prestigious CII-ITC Award for Excellence in Environment Management, for its commitment to sustainability and exceptional achievements in water recovery, emissions reduction, and chemical recovery.

Grasim Cellulosic Division (GCD), Vilayat, has been honoured with the esteemed “CII-ITC Award for Excellence in Environment Management.” The award was presented to Ashish Garg, Unit Head, GCD Vilayat, and Shailley Garg, Head Technical Services, GCD, by Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. The recognition was bestowed during the 17th CII-ITC Sustainability Awards ceremony, attended by renowned CEOs, distinguished members of the jury, and assessors.

H K Agarwal, Managing Director, Grasim Industries Limited, congratulated the Vilayat team for their remarkable achievement, emphasising their commitment to sustainability. He acknowledged the team’s hard work, particularly in the area of sustainability, stating that it is at the core of their Pulp and Fibre business. Agarwal highlighted their efficient manufacturing process, which has led to increased water recovery, reduced emissions, and chemical recovery. He emphasised the importance of water as a scarce natural resource and praised Birla Cellulose for surpassing the required standards and setting a new benchmark.

Ashish Garg, Unit Head – Grasim Cellulosic Division, Vilayat, shared that the award recognises Grasim Cellulosic Division’s outstanding policies, practices, and results in sustainable business. He expressed the division’s commitment to the “Mission Life” movement and continuous efforts towards environmental excellence.
