Blue Energy Motors hits 100th truck milestone in smart manufacturing

The BEM LNG trucks are sustainable as they emit less greenhouse gases as compared to diesel-powered trucks.

Blue Energy Motors (BEM) has rolled out its 100th truck from its smart manufacturing facility in Pune. The BEM LNG trucks are sustainable as they emit less greenhouse gases as compared to diesel-powered trucks.

During The rollout celebration in Pune at the Chakan facility Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO, Blue Energy Motors stated that sustainability should not be an option, but rather a way of life. He further highlighted that the company’s trucks were conceptualised and built with the conditions and demands of the Indian duty cycles in mind. Additionally, trucks are the most effective immediate viable solution for the pollution issue that the heavy-duty truck industry produces.

The introduction of the BE 5528+ tractor in the market in November 2022 marked the beginning of Blue Energy Motor’s entry into the LNG-fuelled truck industry. BE 5528+ has lowered the logistics carbon footprints of the cement and steel sectors since its introduction in the market. The truck embodies various interesting and important features such as FPT multipoint stoichiometric combustion engine technology and it has the industry’s first 990l fuel tank which provides a range of upto 1400 kms in single fill, ensuring adequate coverage across important routes of the nation as the LNG dispensing network is coming up. It delivers best-in-class TCO and quieter operation than conventional fuel-powered trucks. It is the most powerful liquified natural gas truck available for the Indian market as it features 280 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque. It is equipped with an air-suspended seat and automatic climate control, thus providing a comfortable environment for the driver. State-of-the-art AI and ML-enabled proprietary telematics are used to monitor the truck to certify class-leading productivity, supported by BEM’s own network touchpoints.
