CEAT Limited has achieved a Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit rating from the British Safety Council, demonstrating their commitment to continually improving health and safety management systems.
The Ambernath plant, which produces off highway tyres, underwent a comprehensive evaluation, including interviews and operational activity sampling. The British Safety Council praised CEAT for their proactive approach to managing risks and commitment to continual improvement. This recognition comes after CEAT’s Chennai plant received the 5 star grading last month. In all, four plants of CEAT have been conferred this honour with Halol and Nagpur receiving this grading in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
Mike Robinson, CEO, British Safety Council, praised the company for their proactive approach to managing risks to their workers’ health, safety, and wellbeing. Robinson added that the award reflects CEAT’s commitment to continual improvement in their health and safety arrangements.
Amit Tolani, Chief Executive, CEAT Specialty, expressed his pride in the accomplishment and attributed it to the collaborative efforts of a cross-functional team guided by functional heads. The team worked together to raise awareness of the safety standards among the plant’s associates and contract labourers. According to Tolani, the health and safety of CEAT’s employees and stakeholders remain the company’s top priority, and they will continue to set high safety benchmarks.
