LANXESS Flavors & Fragrances to go sustainable by 2023

The company will offer sustainable product variants for its entire portfolio of flavours and fragrances, preservatives, and animal nutrition products by the end of 2023.

LANXESS, a specialty chemicals company, aims to make its entire value chain climate-neutral by 2050. The Flavors & Fragrances business unit plans to offer sustainable product variants for its entire portfolio by the end of 2023, including preservatives, animal nutrition products, and flavours and fragrances under the Kalama and Purolan brands. The company collaborates with key suppliers to provide sustainable raw materials, such as bio-based and circular materials, and uses green energy in its own production. All five production sites of the business unit will be ISCC Plus certified to ensure transparency about the use of sustainable raw materials along the entire value chain.

Holger Hueppeler, the Head of the Flavors & Fragrances business unit, stated that the production transformation makes the company pioneers in offering sustainable products and actively shaping the development towards more sustainability in the personal and home care industry. The company also helps its customers achieve their own sustainability goals.
