bolster air cargo capabilities and extend into ocean freight & logistics

IBS Software, a leading SaaS solutions provider for the travel industry, has completed the acquisition of Accenture Freight and Logistics Software (AFLS), a technology platform for airline and ocean transportation companies. The acquisition will consolidate the latest innovations to accelerate growth in the airfreight and ocean freight businesses, making IBS Software a key player in the global freight supply chain.

AFLS provides cloud-based collaboration platforms that enhance airline partnerships, a major focus area for carriers. The acquisition is a strategic step towards IBS Software’s vision of becoming an end-to-end player in the global freight supply chain.

IBS Software will open a new development centre in Chennai, its fourth in India, to accelerate the company’s mission of transforming travel companies’ operations in a digital world. The acquisition will also allow IBS Software to tap into a highly capable talent pool of experts in logistics and supply chain management, driving innovation and delivering value to the industry.

According to V K Mathews, Executive Chairman of IBS Software, the acquisition of AFLS is a strategically important milestone for the cargo and logistics business to broaden its global footprint, with ocean transportation being a natural adjacent industry in which to expand its expertise. Anand Krishnan, CEO of IBS Software, said that the acquisition of AFLS is pivotal in the company’s wider mission to transform the global supply chain through digital innovation.
