In line with its commitment of promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace, power management company Eaton has stepped up its hiring of women engineers across areas.

An increasing number of women are opting for STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) careers, which is reflected in the talent available within the industry for these roles. While still the gap in the number of women engineers exists in the industry, it is encouraging to see that women are making their presence felt. Eaton too has seen a diverse pool of deserving candidates during university recruitments.

Of the total campus recruits Eaton hired in 2021, more than 54% were female engineers. This is a year-over-year increase of 19% over 2020. Women engineers were employed across diverse areas like data analytics, computer science, information technology, mechanical, electrical, electrical and communications, automation, power electronics, and aerospace engineering.

The company plans to continue expanding its presence across campuses and incorporating new colleges with respect to niche skills hiring.

Ashish Kapoor, director, Human Resources, India shared, “We aim to make Eaton a great place to work where the uniqueness of each individual is valued. In lines with our goal to become a model of inclusion and diversity in our industry, we remain committed to ensuring that Eaton continues to be an equal opportunity employer.
