The 9th edition of DieMould India 2014, the biennial die and mould
international exhibition organised by Tool and Gauge Manufacturers Association – India (TAGMA) was recently held from the 17-20, 2014 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon. Eminent Aerospace scientist and former President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam inaugurated the show amongst thunderous cheers. While addressing the audience, Dr Kalam mentioned that the die and mould industry in India is vibrant and has a huge scope. He also stated that he had a five point vision for the die and mould industry. “The indus- try should aspire to grow from the present `17,000 crore to over `35,000 crore by 2020.” He asserted that the industry should adopt latest technologies such as Nano technology and robotics and follow zero waste principles. The sector should aim to emerge as a net exporting industry by 2020,” he asserted. Spread over 20,000 sq-mt, this edition of the exhibition was quite promising. It experienced large footfalls on all the three days and provided a perfect platform for the tooling industry to come together and showcase their high end technologies.
