Cement Manufacturers’ Association (CMA), the apex representative body of large cement manufacturers in India, at its 55th Annual General Meeting has elected Mr Mahendra Singhi, Group CEO & Wholetime Director, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd as its new Vice President.
On the occasion Mr Singhi said, “I am honoured to be appointed as the Vice President of CMA”. “It is indeed a proud moment for me as well as the entire Dalmia Bharat Group on being chosen as one of the representatives of CMA”, he further added.
A prominent figure in the Indian Cement industry, Mr Singhi has served as President of Rajasthan Manufacturers Association earlier. He is a science and law graduate by training and also a chartered accountant.
Among others present at the AGM were, Shri Ajay Narayan Jha, Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr Shailendra Chouksey, President CMA and Shri N Srinivasan, Ex-President CMA.
The event aimed at highlighting the fact that India is home to the world’s second largest cement industry and accounts for over 7% of the global installed capacity, Indian cement sector is the most energy-efficient globally with the lowest carbon footprint in the world. And is among few large scale modern industries which do not produce any hazardous solid or liquid discharge.
